There’s been much talk lately about the benefits of colon cleansing and detox programs. The most common questions patients have about them are ‘do they work?’, ‘are they safe for you ?’ and ‘do you have to camp out in the bathroom when you’re on one?’ The fact of the matter is, cleanses and detoxes are good for you when done the right way. And no, you don’t have to set up a commode side cot to get through the process.

Proper “elimination,” along with proper nutrition, movement, recouperation and nerve communication is an important function your body performs to maintain health. Over time our digestive tracts can become sluggish and ineffective at absorbing nutrients if they become clogged. That’s where a good cleanse comes in. When done correctly, periodic colon cleanses can clear your intestines of poorly absorbed food, parasites and excess mucous. (I know, not pleasant to think about, but do you really want that stuff hanging out inside you.)

Aside from the cleaning benefits, many report significant weight reduction and energy gain from doing cleanses. So which one program is best? You have to try a few to find what works best for you. I stumbled on a website called DrNatura.com. Their product Colonix looked pretty good, and the testimonials and pictures (yes pictures) posted on their site were quite impressive… enough to convince me to be buy a 3 month supply. I’m on day 3 and I can honestly say that what they report in the website is true. No pain, no urgent trips to the bathroom and I do have a bit more energy. I haven’t witnessed any “alien landings yet” (see the picture gallery on DrNatura.com) but I’ll keep you posted on how things are going in my blog.
