Obamacare Waivers | How to Get Yours
It’s the end of the year and if you haven’t renewed, updated or gotten new insurance, the Obamacare mandate is looming for you. If by this time you still don’t have a plan (or your existing plan wasn’t converted) you will be subject to the first year’s 1% penalty which could cost you from $470 on up. But there are some little known Obamacare waivers you may want to know about.
These are the published legal ways to avoid the 2014 Obamacare. Here’s the list…
1. You can claim that you were homeless (no documentation needed)|
.
2. You were facing eviction or actually evicted in the last 6 months, or had a foreclosure. A copy of your eviction or foreclosure notification is needed for documentation.
.
3. Your utilities got shut off, again you need documentation (a copy of your shut off notice) to prove this happened.
.
4. You were the victim of domestic violence (no documentation required)
.
5. You had a death in your immediate family. There is a requirement to prove this. You need to furnish either a death certificate, official obituary or some other official notification of death.
.
6. You experienced damage to your primary dwelling, as a fire, flood or other disaster. There must have been substantial damage and have proof ie. a police or fire report or news source showing the event.
.
7. You filed for bankruptcy (documentation required includes your filing)
.
8. There were medical expenses you couldn’t pay in the last 24 months. This one is a bit vague on what expenses count, but they will ask you for medical bills to document the expenses.
.
9. You had to care for an ailing or disabled family member (documentation and receipts of expenses required)
.
10. You have a child you can claim and was denied Medicaid coverage. You must document their need for medical care and show they were denied insurance.
.
11. You were denied, but then shown to be eligible for an Obamacare plan through the marketplace after an apeal that lowers your overall care costs. You need to show a copy of the appeals decision.
.
12. You were found to be ineligible for Medicaid because your state did not expand on it. (documentation requred)
.
13. Your existing insurance policy was cancelled or in the process of being cancelled. If you found other plans in the exchange too expensive to replace your plan, you can claim this waiver. This is a big one if you held private insurance and the premiums skyrocketed as a result of the Affordable Healthcare Act. You need to show a copy of your cancellation letter.
.
14. You experienced another ‘hardship’. Seems the sky’s the limit on this one?
.
15. Instead of choosing an Obamacare plan, you joined a Christian Health Share ministry, which qualifies you as successfully complying with the mandate and is exempt from the Obamacare penalty. If you haven’t already looked into one of these, do yourself a favor and visit these sites.

These plans do not call themselves insurance, but surely do cover a majority of health issues. There are some rules and qualifications you must meet, but the monthly costs are a FRACTION of what you’d pay to Obamacare – without the unnecessary fluff like maternity coverage, abortion services, contraception services. A great option of you’re morally against Obamacare and it’s allowed procedures. You can find more information about them here.
